Scott was an incredible example to us all that you can succeed despite your challenges.   Our senior year at Olympus, the LDS High School Seminaries throughout the Salt Lake Valley were holding a "Seminary Bowl" competition similar to the GE College Bowl, which was a popular quiz show at that time.  There were four of us on the Seminary Bowl Team.  Scott was the Book of Mormon expert and could identify any scripture from the Book of Mormon, Book, chapter and verse.  He had an incredible memory.  We won the Seminary Bowl that year in large part because Scott could answer any question regarding the Book of Mormon.  It was a fun time.  He will be greatly missed.

Scott was a wonderful example to everyone. I remember him singing the school song, and accompanying himself. He demonstrated so many talents and had such a bright mind. God speed, Scott.

I am very sorry to hear that Scott has passed.  I tried to local him a few decades ago and was told he had died.

I have many fond memories of Scott; talking with him, listening to him play the piano, and his sense of humor.  But my favorite was riding the roller coaster, on what must have been Senior day, at Lagoon.  We rode around so many times the ticket takers just stopped getting us out and stopped taking our tickets.

I missed Scott for years and now I am doubly sad that I could have reconnected years ago.

Scott magnified many special gifts and blessed the lives of all who had the privilege to know him.

I have many fond memories of our days at Olympus High, and will cherish our friendship.

I have some very fond memories of Scott.  He asked me to accompany him to a school dance during our senior year, and we went to dinner before the dance.  It was interesting to watch the way he was able to locate and eat his food.  To attest to his incredible memory, a year or so after our graduation from Olympus I saw Scott on the BYU campus.  I went up and said, "Hi Scott", and he immediately said "Hi Ann".  Taking that one step further, I attended the 20th year class reunion, and had the exact same experience.  I went up and said, "Hi Scott", and he immediately said "Hi Ann!".     I remember that he would call me on the phone occasionally at BYU and ask me to listen to a song that he had just composed on the piano.  He loved music and was very talented.  I will never forget Scott Stanger for the amazing friend that he was.
